Hello gentlemen. I think this is my most elaborate car to day, the gorgeous Ferrari 312B from the 1970 Monza GP. Shell by PW, (a lot modified) and all the rest completely scratchbuilt, even the rear wing. She took me an year to complete, all the possible detail bits were added to the car, rivets, wires, hoses, the Dinoplex, etc... Hope you like it. Here we go... Regards, Dan.

Fantastic Dan. When I saw the first photograph of the finished car for a moment I thought it was of the real 312B Excellent work and such detail; I'm not surprised you've worked on it for year. What wheels and tyres have you used?
Best Regards
David

Many thanks for your kind words, guys.
David, the wheels are completely scratchbuilt!
The fronts were made out of 14 pieces each, all done by myself. I wasn`t happy with the wheels available , so I decided to make them at home. The rear ones are Fly modified.
The bolts on each wheel were made by myself, using a Dremel. A very time-consuming work, and an eye-tiring job.
The tyres are Fly modified at the rear, and SCX at the front.
I have many photos of the building process, but is a time consuming job and may be boring to the readers too... I don`t know.
The exhaust pipes are not the ones cast on the body. They were made completely as a separate sub-assemblies. The complete exhaust system is made out of 20 parts.
Best regards, Dan.

Hi Dan, really lovely work as those before have said! All looks so well proportioned. May I suggest the Firestone tyres from Policar might be more accurate on the front? They were probably unavailable when you started the build!!! If you pm me your address I'll send you some as a present. Only if you want of course. Lovely to see people taking an interest in this era. Cheers Andi

Hi Dan
I would love to see some more photographs - particularly as to how you built the wheels and exhausts.
Best Regards

It is true, when I started to build the car, the front tyres for F1 cars from Policar were unavailable. But... I resized and reshaped front tyres from Fly, and I think they look very realistic now: First of all, extract the wheels from the front end, it can be easily done. Then, the new tyres are on the car: Best regards, Dan.

They look fabulous Dan, the final detail on a wonderful car! I am not familiar with those tyres (also the rear one's), what are they from? Are they available as a spare? Cheers Andi

Having built my own 312B,I really admire the superb result Dan has achieved with this model. It would look great alongside the forthcoming Policar 312B/2. You just can't have enough early 70s F1 cars,I reckon! TED...

Cheers Andi Andi, the tyres are the ones made by Fly, the Spanish company. They were fitted in their classic sports car range from the late 1990`s to the day. I don`t know if they are still available as spare, but the tyres were used in many of their cars: Ferrari 512s, Porsche 917 and 908, Lola T70, etc. Dan.

Fantastic - truly excellent build! Thanks for sharing - really enjoyed the detail photos lower down. Would like to see more - particularly with the rear wheels off to show off the incredible detail you have built into the rear suspension.
