Hi Folks, This is my GP 67' entry..........Clarks' Lotus 33 #4........still a lot to do!! The chassis is a modified Beardog 3, and will be powered by a stock Scaley FF050. Wheels are RSSlot 13" double flanged (BWA clones). The inserts are also from BWA, and I have used some 3 ear knockoffs from Slot Car Corner. These knockoffs would look more accurate with the centers drilled out, but after ruining a few, I have decided that they will stay as is . I have used the new(ish) "Liquid Chrome" marker pens from Molotow to paint the knockoffs, and , if you have not tried these, I can highly recommend them. The body is a Monogram 25, with a few mods to make it look more like a 33 (mainly low exhausts). The decals are from Indycals, and Mr Clarks' head from Immense miniatures. The chassis has been run, and I am more than pleased....a bit of fine tuning left, and it will be done. See you on the grid Cheers Chris Walker

Very crisp and clean Chris. Your approach to chassis construction is always a wonderment and work of art. The body sits very low.

A bit of progress....................Tamiya "Racing Green" applied, and decals by Michael at Indycals. Michael has a new process (printer and or ink) which has made a noticeable improvement...........the "yellow" in particular on this decal set is very good indeed!! Still must clean the Solvaset residue off the body and clear coat with semi gloss, as well as a ton of detail painting, making a transmission, mirrors, etc. etc.etc, but, thankfully, I do have time. Cheers Chris Walker

Hi Chris
The 33 is looking excellent. What tyres are you using, please? Have you strengthened the nose above the front suspension?
Best Regards
David

What tyres are you using, please? Have you strengthened the nose above the front suspension? Best Regards David Hello David, I am using Dart #RM0202 urethanes on the rear end........these are copies of the original Monogram tyre, and are therefore designed for a double flanged wheel. The fronts are some vintage Cox 1/32 tyres I had in my spares box, but, Dart also makes a narrow(ish) Monogram repro tyre that will fit just as well. I also believe that PG makes identically sized tyres, so there is certainly some choice. The wheels are 13" double flanged units from RSSlotracing. As far as strengthening the nose......to be honest, the kit body (I am using the Monogram static kit) appears to be plenty strong.....no reinforcement needed.........I pray!! Cheers Chris Walker

That Lotus is looking really nice, Chris, and as usual your chassis construction is a marvel to behold. I've already spend countless minutes staring at the pictures and trying to figure out how it is designed to work.

Hi Folks, Slow progress ( I am blaming golf), but we are getting there. I still need to finish and attach the gearbox/trans. detail , but, I am almost done. With luck I will make the grid for the first race. Cheers Chris Walker PS I am now using postimage to store pics., and so far it seems very good.

HI Chris
The Lotus looks excellent and I suspect it is even faster than it looks and will show most of the 3 litre cars its exhaust pipes in the races.
Best Regards
David

What a flawless finish you've achieved. All the detail painting is so precise and clean edged. Golf must steady the hand. Congratulations Chris.

Finally got the gearbox done......a bit smaller than the original monogram piece, but, still on the clunky side. Mr Clark is awaiting the first race!! Cheers Chris Walker
