Well it's so quiet here I had to post something. So finally I joined the crowd and had to build another Maserati. This time it's Stirling's Monaco winner from 1956. It's still a work in progress, and this is as far as i've got so far. It started out as a resin from John Warren in New Zealand. I had to do the usual and mess arrounf a bit with it. The rain deflectors were in the wrong place, and the large vents under them were missing, and naturally I had to mess around with the cockpit etc etc. Mr Moss at the seaside having fun in number 28. Mr Warren's excellent casting Here it is after I messed around with it. Those thin rain deflectors are made from very thin sheet glass fibre. Well at least I've got the exhaust finished.

Hi Chris! Fantastic build! That was a very long lasting racing car from Maserati, indeed she raced until 1965! Cheers, Dan.

The Maserati is slowly progressing. I have to admit that EM's excellent version of an early Maserati 250F was the catalist for my build. This car also has a Richard Mack chassis, but one of his new light weight chassis, with brass rods (I'll post pix later). Anyway here's the progress on the car: Wheels are RS with Real Al Penrose inserts (I know they should be 3 ear knock off's, but these will have to do for a while) Note the vent under the splash guard, it's the same on the other side too. Not much room for a full driver, so a chest only Stirling from Immense Miniatures will have to do. suspension detailing has to be thought out too.

Beautiful, Chris. Can't wait to see the suspension. What is the track dimension on this car going to be?

Almost finished, just a few small items to be added like rear-view mirrors. And maybe some leaf springs for the rear suspention. Good shot of Marc Tylers, Immense Miniatures Stirling Moss. Great side view showing correct numbers from Michael at Indycals.

Shouldn't there be more fine detailing at the front end..... Peter.

Hi Peter,
There's only one photo like this, all the others I found had the nose intact. He must have had a late race shunt.

Thanks - looks like it could have a number of applications. How does one go about ordering it? I can't find it on his web site.

Hi EM, I usually send him this photo and tell him which chassis I want, I also specify wheelbase and he'll send me a chassis completely assembled. Here's his email address: Dickytenkids@talktalk.net
