Welcome Howard. This is indeed an open wheel forum, however your proposed Lagonda V12 will be eligible until you put the wings/mudguards on. (Photo Brooklands Society Archives) The image shows one of the V12s at Brooklands. It's always nice to see a build of something a little different. Welcome again, Peter.

Welcome Allan... Good to see you here.. sharp looking Merc!
Welcome Greg... I remember your 158 very well. Hope to see more along that line (even if you don't really care for open wheel cars).

Good to have you here Greg.
I welcome your introduction with the fine examples of the work you have done. A wide area of interest and no mean skills.
So, what about a new project? Not many Indy cars featured.....
Nice to have you with us, Peter.

I must be honest the Boyle Special wasn't one of my projects... it's kind of a "bette noir" for me when it comes to drivers. I know the primary thrust for most slot car manufacturers is to "get the car right" and the driver is an afterthought. Some of slot racing for me is also that moment of "suspended disbelief" when the "toy" becomes "real" in the mind. Creating a driver that is more than a bad department store manikin has be something I've been doing almost from the beginning. The "Boyle Special" was an Ostorero car, constructed as recommended. I created Wilbur Shaw from a Tamiya military figure to add a bit more reality to an otherwise very nice model. Greeenman62

G'day to Martin Field. A few years ago I found on the FPF Models website a future car being a TVR Grantura. My honeymoon car was a 1960 Grantura and I would love to have an example in my collection. Would you know if the mould was made? and would it be available? Regards James.

Would you know if the mould was made? and would it be available? Regards James. Hi James, Yes the TVR Grantura was one of my favourite cars too, a great looking little car. Unfortunately Martin Field is no longer a member of this forum. I believe the mould was never made, and FPF models no longer exists. All the rights to FPF were sold to Dave Capelen (Mob: 07624-450017; e-mail: slotcarmann@gmail.com). This forum is dedicated to Open wheel cars, and it's been pretty successful because of it's narrow focus. There are many forums out there that cater to sports cars, so...please focus your posts on this forum towards F-1, G.P., Brooklands Cars, Indy/Champ Cars, etc. Thankyou for joining the forum, there are many very experienced engineer/modellers here that will be glad to help if you have any questions. Again Welcome Chris

Hello to all, Your forum is a great find to me, having been interested in all kinds of modelling and slot cars from an early age. I am 53, living in Dorset, UK and along with my daughter, we have a small restoration business. Our prime area is with 20's and 30's cars although we do come up to the mid 60's for racers. We also have some motorcycle involvement and some classic/ vintage aircraft work. I fear that because of my workload, any modelling projects do tend to take a long time or I have to compromise between "what I would like to create" and "what I can create".
If I can be of any help I often have photos of all kinds of full scale cars from a technical point of view, I also contract to other restoration companies and often have the chance to photograph any of their projects providing I do not use anything for commercial purposes.
I have a web site and a blog spot, the former is not a very suitable "look" for my work and has to be altered from it's inaccurate presentation as soon as I can liaise with the designer. The blog has been neglected, partly because of work load and partly because I cannot always post details of projects until they leave the workshop for security.
A further problem (my phone and sync mode)has also caused the deletion of many photos from the blog. Having said that, please visit and keep an eye as I have many updates and in depth articles to post now that they have left the workshop.

Welcome Eric,
Hello Eric,
Just did a quick survey of your blog, I'll spend more time there when I get a chance. Interesting stuff. I'm originally from Bournemouth which is now part of Dorsetshire, (go figure!) I now live in the States near Atlanta.
Please post any articles you have on open wheel cars, we look forward to seeing them.
Again Welcome,
Chris
