Hi
I am building a Ferrari for the GP of Montana. I am going to try to a simple build, not like the Derrington. In any case I have a 67 Ferrari with the spaghetti exhaust.
Question: What is the best way to get the exhaust pipes from three pipes into one? I have to do that four times with the Ferrari. 12 pipes down to 4. Any help on this would be much appreciated. I was planning on using plastic rod for the exhausts, but open to other suggestions.
Thanks!!
all my very best,
Charles

For a step by step tutorial on exhaust building you may want to check David Lawson's Lotus 12 thread on Slot Forum in December 2010. That example was 4 exhausts from the manifold into one pipe, rather than 3 into 1 (repeated 4 times). I've used David's tutorial since then as my guide when I bend plastic rod--and yes I've found that plastic rod works best. I haven't attempted anything as complicated as the tangle of spaghetti that's on the 1967 Ferrari, but you may recall Modelersc's March 4 2012 post on Slot Forum . Check out post #20 which discusses how he shaped the exhausts. There are no photos of the process, but there are some nice pictures of the final result. Good luck Charles. I'm sure your Ferrari will turn out splendidly.
