Long story cut short - I took some balsa on holiday with me to France during a sort of 'practise retirement'. This exercise produced the basis of both the Hondola and the BT24 which the old whittler himself took on and finished for me. This is a lash-up I have produced using the primered shell, Als wheels, Pioneer tyres and by poking the white metal bits into the holes provided. Only masses more to do then and not sure I got the correct front wheels from Al (my fault if I did Al). Nevertheless the BT24 finally begins to come to life in 1/32. Comments/observations welcome Mel

Nice work.. looks like you guys captured the 1:1 very well.
That's a rich dark primer you use.. what is it? (Probably not available over here anyway I suspect).
Great job!

Mark, The primer is Halfords and this chain was owned originally by (I think) Bruce Halford the 50s racing driver. FOllowing a suggestion from some old bloke on another forum, I changed the front tyres for NSR classics. Looks closer to your pic now Cheers Mel Green must find green

Russel,
Thank you for your suggestion. I have been looking at Hiroboy for some time and thinking of why I haven't ordered something. I might just give it a go as I need other colours from them.
Cheers

A quick update, the BT24 now has suspension but had to wait while I finished the Cooper T60 for the VRAA Proxy race where it did OK in the conkers but is a mid to low field runner due to lack of grunt. Now how do I fix that? Anyway this is the BT24 with suspension on but no springs yet and now for the body which is being sprayed in Hiroboy Dark BRG thanks to Russell for that suggestion. More polishing required yet. Cheerss Mel
