I took these photographs at Silverstone last Friday on the first practice day of the British Grand Prix. The historics were part of the support programme to the Grand Prix but as you see from the pictures the British weather did its best to spoil the party. I got soaked having arrived at Silverstone at 7.30am and leaving at 7.00pm and it rained almost all day but I had a great time. The pictures may not help too much with model making but I thought you might like to see them. Those are wonderful pictures David, in spite of the rain.
In addition to the BRM P180, I'm partial to the March 701 .. (and I'll bet Russell will love it!).
I presume that after enduring the deluge, you returned for the dry weather on Sunday and watched Mark Webber motor to victory?

Fantastic photos, as ever, David.
The March (chassis 701/10) was sold new to John Love, who raced the car in the South African F1 Championship series from 1970 until 1972.
Love won the Bulawayo 100 in June 1970, his first race with the March. In 1971 he won three more events, in a season dominated by Dave Charlton's Lotus 72/R3.
After being campaigned for many years in the USA by an American historic racer, who painted it Tyrrell blue, chassis 701/10 was recently restored to its original Team Gunston livery.
Kind regards,
Russell
