Tony Condon sent me pictures of his GPdG entry, a Lotus 49. I don't know too much about the car, other than it has a Pioneer Hurricane Motor, so it will probably go like a bat out of hell on the right track.

Hi guys Re the lotus 49 it is a replica of the car jim clarkrecently voted by motorsport readers as britains greatest ever world champ) won the 1967 british gp at silverstone with (i was there ) The car i used last year was too heavy so this was made far lighter I started building it in 1968 and managed to make the steering unit from aluminium then however it langusihed in my projects box for the next 42 years only the excuse of the gpG led me to use it finally .It doesnt steer any more but is basically the same unit The chassis is a fibre board flexi chassis and the rattle plate underneath is made from carbon fibre it uses ranch gears and a slot it wood guide Hope that explains things a little ,hope it arrives safely cheers tony

Hi All My car is on its way from far flung Perth, so I hope it arrives safe and sound. The car is a Scalextric bodied Lotus 49, with a modified Penelopepitlane chassis with a Scalextric moto GP motor and suspension a mix of standard and piano wire. The driver is SCX/Scalextric and tyres are from Paul Gage. Best Regards to all, Nigel

Like the start of the 3 Litre Formula my 3 litre Honda did not reach completion in time for the event,so I have sent a BRM 216, just hope that 'wee Jackie " can emulate Monaco and pilot the BRM to a win.

Building the tack has left precious little time for my car so I've got a basic MRRC Honda sitting on a Beardog chassis. Still sorting the driver but it's pretty much finished other than truing the tires. Jay

Jay yours is a lot further progressed than mine! Just as well we could not have two Hondas in the series!
