I have recently ordered and received BWA parts from Dart Hobbies. I like the order by email and pay using Paypal. Art is friendly and efficient. I was surprised how quickly the parts arrived from Canada. I believe Dart Hobbies is now the official outlet for BWA. I will order again.

Hi Gents, Arthur (Dart Hobbies) has infact formed a partnership with Al Penrose, and is the sales arm of BWA products.
As well as the BWA products (wheels, inserts, brackets, motors, etc.), Art produces 'Dart" urethane tires.......molded from the originals, and the sidewall detail and finish is excellent.. Many of our club members have given Art original VIP, Monogram, Revell, Cox, etc. tires to mold, and these will all be found on his site. (The Cox tires narrow/med/wide, fit the 13" BWA wheels)
Art has also molded many tires from more modern "plastic cars", many of which will be of interest to those building 50's, 60's, 70's and on GP cars...( Scaley Cooper/156 fronts and rears, Ninco 20x 7 and 21 x9, Scaley Lotus 49/Eagle, Cartrix vintage F1, Fly/Scaley/Ninco modern F1).
Our club (and others in our area) run Dart tires on all our racing classes, and although they are not original Ortmanns,' they are very very good
Additionally, Art is making plastic repro parts for many hard to find cars...(Monogram Lotus 33 windshields, mirrors, exhausts, trans. covers, susp. etc., as well as a variety of driver figures, helmets, steering wheels, and intake trumpets.
Cheers Chris Walker
PS I have just sent Dennis Samson a set of Monogram Lotus parts for a refurb he is doing, and am sure he will be more than delighted with the quality.

But does Al, or anyone else for that matter, make nice aluminum wheels both front and rear as replacements for the Scalextric Lotus 49 or Eagle Weslake?
If so, who, where, and what's the stock number?

Mark, The BWA 13" "wide" aluminum wheels are virtually dimensionally identical to the rear wheels on both the Scaley Eagle and Lotus.....if you turn down the stock plastic wheels and use as inserts, they look gorgeous. The BWA wide wheel does not have a boss on the inside, so it is simple to achieve the same "track" as stock. These wheels have a double flange so tires without a center relief must be used....(the Dart 1/32 Cox Cheetah rear tires are a perfect fit for these wheels, and, need only marginal truing to achieve scale od. They also have the original Goodyear sidewall markings, which look particularly good on the Eagle.
The BWA 13" medium fronts are virtually the same size as the Eagle fronts, while the 13" narrow wheels are very very close to the Lotus fronts. Again the plastic fronts can be turned for inserts. Dart hobbies has tires for these wheels, and obviously the wheels themselves.
Cheers Chris Walker

I received my shipment of Dart Monogram replica parts FRiday, and all I can say is "WOW"!
Art has done an amazing job on them, the windscreen especially is so clear it is difficult to believe it is a resin casting.
I will post pictures once the restoration of my Monogram Lotus 33 is complete.

Dennis, The stage 11 windshield I sent a couple of days later is even better.....it was produced using higher pressure, and is even clearer. You should receive this package in a couple of days.
This parcel also contains the suspension parts.
Cheers Chris Walker

Chris, Art's pieces arrived safe and sound, and as you say the new screen is amazingly good. Thanks again for the effort in getting these made!

Very pleased with my order from Art. It arrived about a week after I placed the order, and very nicely packaged.

i ordered wheels, tyres and inserts from Art in Nov. we exchanged a few emails regarding my order which were pleasant and helpful. i received my order within 2 weeks and all items were present. it was my first order from him as ive just started to do resin builds for the first time. he was helpful and patient . i couldnt ask for more. as far as time frame goes ...ive read different responses. but being in the USA, im used to waiting for quality product that is not available here to arrive from the UK. so i have no complaints, only praise.
