great looking kit bash. ive been combing ebay looking for an inexpensive version of this car to do tha same thing. i like using the scaley M24 chassis for the base. i already bought the Reuteman decal set and have a chassis ready to go. now if only a donor for the right price would show up. i made a copy of Deslotted (Ted) DN1 Shadow. it worked out very well and i plan to do a few more until i learn the basics of brass chassis soldering.

Hi, Your Brabham is really nice, congratulations ! I saw this car at the 1975 Brazilian GP and it was fast and beautiful. I see that you used a French Scalex bt44 which is longer than the UK Scalex bt44. Are the Pattos decals the right size for the French model ? How do you rate the colors of these Pattos decals ? I have Indycals decals for this Martini Brabham, the color is great but the size is not exact, probably because it is a 1/32 copy of the decals they did for the Tamiya 1/12 model. Not Indycals' fault, in fact each model manufacturer has its own "interpretation" of the 1/1 car. So Tamiya and Scalex do not agree about the bt44 shape ... About the rear mirrors, which have you used ? Cheers ! André Acker.

Sometimes manfuacturers don't even agree with themselves - Tamiya's 1/20 and 1/12 Lotus 78 are not exact copies - I needed to do separate artwork for each. The differences are small, but the sizing needs to be exact. In the case of the BT44 if it's a matter of even scaling (ie, scaled equally in all directions) I can tailor fit decals to fit better. Ie, if the nose needs to be 5% bigger, I can do that.

Brilliant transformation of the BT44 into a stunning replica with a beautiful finish. An inspiration for me to have another look at my old Scalextric F1 models.
