Bit gutted I wrote war and peace prior to this and lost it, so this will be brief and I will write more tomorrow. I found this wonderfully informative forum ("Boot Lace Ferrules" on order now, thank you) via one of Mark's (aka, Bigskybanker) posts. I'm currently in the process of building my third scratch build. A 1968 Dutch GP winning Matra MS10 Cosworth, driven by Jackie Stewart. Sorry for repeating myself Dave & Mark. Mr Wisdom is the inspiration behind me taking on the scratch build challenge. Thank you Dave for your friendship, Help and advice. I must be doing is head in by now! >:DSorry. Here's my first two builds. Aston Martin GT Zagato 1961 Le Mans. DNF race due to cylinder head problems. Mk X Jaguar to my knowledge never raced. I hope one day I can produce a car to the standards set by Dave and the many scratch build artisans I have seen on these forums. Practice makes perfect(ish!) Cheers. Bri Attachments:

Welcome Brian. We are not snobs here (if we were, I certainly wouldn't be here), but you will note that we hope that your posts, pictures, inquiries and even rants (yes rants are allowed as long as you follow our very extensive set of forum rules) (check index) will be focused on anything related to open wheeled racers. We look forward to seeing your Matra MS10 as it progresses. I love the 3L cars from the late 60s (I'd say the early 70s as well except I have an aversion to wings that I can't quite shake!). Congratulations on taking the plunge into scratch building. If you have the good fortune to lean on Dave Wisdom as a mentor you are in excellent hands. I was very fortunate to have the assistance of a couple of guys (who are members of this forum) who have always been willing to provide me with advice, tips, and helpful critiques of my efforts. Again welcome.

Thanks Gents for the welcome.Mark, I cannot find the "index" relating to rules. Unless, "just be a gentleman" is the rule. I can better that, as I am a Second Officer Marine Engineer (Currently recovering from a back operation). So I can confirm I am an Officer and a Gentleman .
I cannot wait to get back to sea and put to use all the materials and machinery held on board. I may have an attempt at making a chassis(Or several), some bearing bushes and Wheels. Cheers

Welcome to the forum Brian. You should certainly take advantage of your on-board equipment. I knew a guy years ago who built most of a 5" gauge steam loco whilst afloat.
When you start a thread on the Matra (!) I am sure you will appreciate both the interest and the enthusiasm shown by other forum members.
Peter.
