Good luck with the repaint. That slimy Scalextric plastic presents some challenges.

Hi guys, here is a low-tech method I've used to visualize possible paint schemes. It's my 'coloring book". I trace the outline of the car I'm painting and mock up various color schemes using colored pencil. This method only takes me a few minutes, whereas it would take me much longer to render images in a computer graphics program. Just print out the blank trace and get out your crayons. Or your graphics program if you are quicker with a mouse than I am. This is a trace of the Scalextric C81 Cooper. These four images are shown as examples. These are color schemes for a different model, the C66 Cooper, but it illustrates the idea.

It had to be done. I had always wondered why purple cars are seldom seen. Now I know why.

Hi Matt, I think you should hi jack it, it might be a better story, It's like a lot of my other projects, do a bit play with it forget about it, wait for funds, spend them on something else, haha. I want to get a real, big drive in car so some things maybe on the back burner for a while. I do like these cars and run them every now and again. Some have original motors and 2 with brass chassis and f50 motor, they go quite well. I am trying very hard to do 2 cars for VRAA, and GP d'UK. Thanks Nigel
