It looks splendid Taffy. The semi-matt finish of the main body work looks just right. The gear box and ancillary engine detail are great. Looking forward to your kit!
Best Regards
David

David, unfortunately, the finish will not stay in semi matt, because later I have to seal the decals and I use a (semi-)gloss sealant to do this... A quick update: Today I´ve made the air intake trumpets using wire end ferrules. To simulate the fine mesh that covers the trumpets I have used fine steeel wool, rolled it between my fingers to get small balls, that I glued to the trumpets with cyanoacrylate: To prevent that from rust, I have painted the steel wool with some chrome colour (lower row) The wiring goes on, and the exhaust manifolds are driving me mad….

The car is ready now, and here is the result. I will rotate it in clockwise direction (I hope, you won´t be dizzy … )…. I have kept the matte finish by painting the car with a matte clear laquer using a brush. To keep the structure of the fine front mesh, it is painted with a thick permanent marker. Mirrors are Pre-Wing white metal parts. Decals are printed, but I´m not very satisfied with the decal paper. Unfortunately, there was no time to get and try an other brand. The Stewart helmet decal is from a Penelope Pitlane decal sheet. The hoses of the overflow cans are made of plastic thread, that is used to attach price labels to clothing Any other questions are welcome… Here an “atmospheric” picture and the technical specifications Chassis: brass/steel, developed by Roland Köhler Guide: ? Motor: Scalextric C8304v Inserts: own cast, (copy of Sloter Lola T70 Spyder ltd. edition) Wheels: Front: Plafit PF1431, Rear: ? Front and Rear Tires: Ortmann´s Gears: 9:30 Weight: 80.2 g Driver: own cast (copy of Scalextric Lotus 49 torso), Body: own cast (conversion of B&C Matra Ms10 shell)

Well Taffy, the Matra MS( is up to your usual fine and exacting standards. Congratulations!
Many things to admire, but I'm glad you were able to keep the matte finish. Were you able to squeeze a full driver figure into the car?
What is the weight of the car? (That's my inner Colin Chapman surfacing!).
Cheers.

Hello, Mark,
yes, there is a complete driver fitted to the car, it is a copy of the Lotus 49-driver from Scalextric.
Weight:
11,6g (body) + 68.6g (complete chassis) = 80,2g

Yes, David, I agree with you.... An addition: the pictures of the original car (in its time, not the pictures of the restored car) show a logo on the big frontal bulge, that seems to be a Goodyear-logo, so I decided, to add this before sendig the car to Dave. Tomorrow, I will pack the parcel, and on monday, the car will go to England ( I hav to send it now, because my -like Mark will say: never ending - holiday will start at the end of next week.

Fantastic execution of a unique subject Taffy, and very generous making bodies available to other builders. Could this be a three-peat?

Thank you very much for this praise, Matt!
What is a three-peat? I couldn´t find a translation for that.

I may have spelled it incorrectly. A three-peat or 3-peat is when a two-time champion (a re-peat champion) wins a third successive title. As the two-time defending GPd champion, you can achieve the 3-peat!
How about hat trick instead...LOL.
Good luck in the race!

Thank you Matt, for your explanation! Repeat -> three-peat! "Click" For me as a non-native speaker sometimes it´s difficult to understand special english phrases.

Just took the time to read the posts instead of just rushing from one picture to the next. - Orthodontist eh - that explains the extraordinarily skilled wire bending - now the speed must be another secret.

I had to make a decision. For some reason (and I cannot/will not give a further comment on this), I have given up the plan of preparing bodykits of the car. I ask for comprehension of all, who were interested to get one.
