How about a 1974 Trojan 103, from Tauranac Racing...Ain't she purdy. It actually ran at the 74 Italian G.P. at Monza, such a shame, it never finished. Driven by Tim Schenken.

Well i've got a soft spot for this, the first ever 'Williams' the FX3. Crashed and written off in its first race by Pescarolo. Of course it was known as the Politoys FX3 hence my interest....

Thanks for posting that Chris, forgot about Tim driving that great looking car! I have been looking at Aussies racing during the era. Not that there was many podiums until Alan Jones and Williiam later on.

OK Phil I did a bit of research. Famous Aussie Formula One drivers:
1970 to 1977 24 different cars.Jack Brabham drove: a BT-33 in 1970. Warwick Brown drove: In 1976 for Walter Wolf Racing a Williams FW05. Alan Jones drove: 1n 1975 a Hesketh 308B, Hill GH1, in 1976 Surtees TS19 (sponsored by durex) and in 1977 the Shadow DN8. Brian McGuire drove: In 1976 a Williams FW04 and in 1977 a McGuire BM1. Larry Perkins drove: 1n 1974 a Amon AF101, in 1976 a Boro Ensign N175 & a Brabham BT45. & in 1977 a BRM P207, a BRM P201B/204 & a Surtees TS19. Tim Schenken drove: In 1970 a De Tomaso 505, 1971 Brabham BT33, 1972 Surtees TS9B and Surtees TS14, 1973 Iso-Marlboro, 1974 Trojan T103 and Lotus 76. Vern Schuppan drove: In 1972 a BRM P153B, 1974 Ensign N174, 1975 Hill GH1, 1977 Surtees TS19. David Walker drove: In 1971 a Lotus 56B and in 1972 a Lotus 72D. You're right not many podiums, Alan Jones 1977 Austrian Grand Prix, in a Shadow DN8. So there you have it, you have to build a Shadow!

Well its great the Mark is doing a virtually unknown Ferrari but if I was going that way i'd choose one of these 3 options: Or my personal favourite:

I have a few options for Aussie drivers, have a 56 b part finished,I have plans and did start making the AF 101. I think I have an Ensign hidden away, I also have a John Bacon BT33 and the Shadow and Wolf could easily be built with the Scalex Tupperware bodies as the starting point. Once I get my other F1 projects painted I will get out the '70 's draw and sort thru all the part finished projects.

I was looking at my Tecno book and it reminded me that there were a number of rather 'unique' body forms they built.... Not all were raced I believe!! Enjoy!
