I built this some time ago, when Steve Ward's excellent Lotus 18 had just come out, and the Mythical Man Mr. Al Penrose still participated in our hobby. Naturally I couldn't leave well enough alone, if you are familiar with the kit, you'll know that the Penelope Pitlane Lotus 18 comes with a computer generated card that simulates the open framework, and Stirling's legs. Well that wouldn't do would it? So Sir Stirling Moss was recreated from a Lemans Miniatures Figure, and he sits in his cockpit surrounded by a few scratch built fuel tanks, a complete red Lotus dashboard and seat, and several radiator pipes, as close as I could make it to the real car. This is one car that I've built that does not have the ubiquitous Beardog Chassis, this has one of the rare, much sought after Brass BWA Bracket and Tube Chassis built by the Mythical master himself. It also has his wheels and Inserts, and an Original Beardog Mini Motor, which I sourced when they were still made in Taiwan, and the all worked, this transfer's the limited amount of power to the track via a Beardog/Sonic Gear. More pictures to follow at a later date. Chris
