Thought I'd better introduce myself. Many of you know of me, though some lucky ones may not. My real name is Lynne Haines, although I've been Ember for so long that I've been known to answer to that in real life. I also write the occasional article for SlotCar MAG.
Mark Huber has suggested I join this forum on more than one occasion, but I've always said I don't really know anything about F1 cars no matter how beautiful I may think the pre-aero era cars are.
My slot car interests are best described as diverse. I guess they tend rather more toward road cars and rally cars. But I allowed a couple of people to talk me into participating in the Tasman Cup for next year, so I need to build myself a GP car. I was given a Penny Pitlane Lotus 24 kit making that seemed a good place to start. The fact that Immense Miniatures are currently working on a Brabham portrait seemed to make him a natural choice. Next time I'll dig a bit deeper before I make such a decision.
Chris was kind enough to post some source material on the Brabham car to help me out. So, here I am.
I grew up across the road from Sandown Park Racecourse, though I can't claim I was ever lucky enough to see the Tasman Series actually running there. I may have heard some races from the later years but at the time I was too young to realise that there was anything special about those particular races.
Anyway. Thank you for your indulgence.
