Thanks, gents. 'Tis what I do, I guess. Just made the dashboard, with its odd rectangular tacho. Exhausts tonight. Suspension tomorrow, then back to the Capri. Although I might just have a bash at that Amilcar for myself.

Aha, I've been waiting for one of these to appear. I'd guess this will be a good seller, if not the best so far.
Peter.

Glad to oblige, Peter. To be fair it was suggested (with a hammer and a shotgun<G>) by Chris, who sent pics and plans. We agreed on a particular plan, but then I felt that it didn't have sufficient slope to the top line, so I built that in, last minute. I'm happy with it now. Then Mel jumped on it, so it will be the next one in the Pre-Wing range and pretty quick, judging by his urgent response.

Risked the cold today to go over the shed to do a bit of lathing. Made the suspension parts for the BRM and the basis of the steering wheel.
I do that by turning a disc which gives me the hub and the spokes, which need cutting and filing with piercing saw and Swiss files.
Then it's soldered to a rim made of a ring of brass wire.
Pics shortly.

Here's the pic. of the suspension parts in their bare state, straight off the lathe. On the right are the 2 De Dion tube parts for the rear suspension. In the centre, the steering wheel disc, which will be cut to give three spokes, marked using the three jaws of the chuck to mark them. On the left are the components of the trailing arms that form the geometry of the front suspension. Martin

News from Martin regarding wheels for Mel's Pre-Wing BRM V-16.
Martin changed etchers so now he has a fret which fits the wheels and are very near to production.
36, 48 and 60 spoke skinny 19" wheels will be produced, that will in due course be sold under the RS Slotracing brand. Martin designed them for him and facilitated getting them made, until the mini-stroke slowed him down a bit!
If you build Mel's V16 BRM, you'll need RS 60 spoke wheels on the front and Pendle's much bulkier ones on the back for a really sweet combo, whereas Ken's W25 can use RS both ends.
Colin at RS also has Martin's Amilcar C6 master and is busy casting them and also is mouding tyres to suit the wheels. 48 spoke 19s will good o the Amilcar too!

So what's happened to the BRM V16 then? I believe it's still in production, email Mel and I'm sure he'll be able to help. I have alerted Mel for you. Chris

OK folks, the PreWing site is now updated so stop hassling Munter. The problem was related to a change of email address which was forced on me by the last one becoming compromised.
