Mark had a cardiac event last night, please send best wishes to the forum, and keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
He's having a pacemaker installed today, and should be released in his Girl Friends care later this afternoon.
It was scary for a while yesterday, but he's stabilized now, and the prognosis is good. Please send well wishes to Facebook or this Forum.

I'm so sorry to hear that, Chris, but relieved Mark is going to be OK. I've sent Mark an e-mail with my very best wishes.
In case you see this first, Mark, get well very soon my friend; I'm missing our trans-Atlantic chats!
Best Regards
David

What the hell? This is not supposed to happen to young folks! I shall advise him that this is, no doubt, the result of shock to his system from exposure to clean air and surroundings after years of city life!
Been meaning to drop him a note - shall now include a stern admonition to precede the evening meal with a significant whiskey (cholesterol is soluble in alcohol)
Heal quickly, my friend

Thank you all for your kind thoughts and words. They are most appreciated. I knew I had hypertension (controlled with medication) as well as a Mitral valve prolapse (not life threatening), but the misfiring heart came as a surprise to me and my loved ones. Fortunately, Katy was cool, calm and collected as she ignored my protests of a minor anxiety attack, and rushed me to the local hospital. From there I was in the good hands of very capable medical staff, and I am now the proud owner of a Medtronics pacemaker embedded somewhere near my left collarbone. The prognosis is good. I would have been back to Helena, MT sooner (this happened over the weekend in Bozeman, MT, about 95 miles away, but I was banned from driving for 24 hours. I did have a chance to wander around a shopping center in Bozeman today, where, much to my surprise I discovered this track tucked away in the corner of a game arcade: I hope to be back in the swing of things quite soon, although I am under strict orders to stay out of the swimming pool for at least 4 weeks.

Wandering around malls?... looking at slotcar tracks?....you must be nearly fixed. Next I will be seeing those nature trails you love on facebook.
It is never fun to have health issues though, so it is good to see you back writing about your adventure.
