Hello Chris and all other forum members Ive only really just started to get back into slot cars after a hiatus of some years - I like many started in the mid 60s and fondly remember my first purchase being a 1/24 Cox Chaparral 2C and running that on a local King track. I dabbled for a few years then a career in the music then record industry kept me occupied until a forced retirement a few years back with a serious heart problem resulting in a heart transplant January 2014 which went horribly wrong resulting in a stay of 14 months in hospital (it includes a fractured hip in that period also) - all good though I have a good heart out of it a new lease on life and will use the retirement to persue some hobbies one being slot cars for collecting and racing. I have over the last 15 years collected some 170 odd 1/32 cars mainly concentrating on GP/F1 Sports Racing/CanAm plus selected touring/saloon cars plus a few other odds and sods. I have a SCX Le Mans set thats never been used and around 90 feet of SCX track (again never used) the plan is to build a permanent 2 lane L shaped circuit say 20 feet x 10 feet (note not exactly L shaped as I want a fast track - probably a variation on Monza vs Monaco vs Lakeside in Australia) and with scenery. At present Im only just out of hospital 6 weeks and (having moved from Tamworth in NSW having sold the old home) Im looking at various homes to move into up here in Noosa to cater for my limited mobility at present but should have all that sorted in a few weeks. Im also a member of the Auslot forum here so a number of you will know me from there plus over at Slotcarillustrated and Slotforumuk. Chris pointed me in the direction of this forum because I was enquiring about purchasing a scratch built Brabham BT19 and Brabham BT21 (1966 Brabham Honda F2). I wont pretend Im that good a model builder let alone from scratch so I was wondering if there is anyone who could scratch build both these cars at a decent price it would be great to hear from anyone on this. Just on this Ive noticed over the years that whilst F1 through the decades is quite well represented by the manufacturers there has been little if any on Formula 2 or Formula 3 I do note that back in the day I seem to remember Scalextric did release some Formula Junior models I could be wrong though. Just my thoughts but it could make for an exciting line of cars from the 1960s era in particular. Ok thats enough from me for today and thank you Chris for the invite. Cheers Steve Carter
