A few of my builds have used ball bearings as opposed to plain bushes, in particular the large diameter, narrow bearings used for front wheels. Forum members may care to look at this site, in particular the miniature bearings. They are and they aren't Martin.
SMB are a Chinese bearing company, but the bearings offered are not all Chinese.
Those of interest to me are available as SMB @ 40p each plus VAT or Japanese EZO bearings can be bought for £1.66each plus VAT.
