He will have 15 screens next Tuesday when we meet up as my son has just brought them down from the frozen North on his rare visit.

I noticed that Pendles for one have all the parts back in for the Policar gearbox for those that need them!
Cheers Andi

Its a bit like waiting for Godot here. I am awaiting parts, some of which have been on order for nearly two weeks but no postie. I have lots of resin and white metal, boxes, special labels and even a largely complete instruction sheet but I don't want to announce the release of this kit until I have everything ready. That looks like it will be next week when I shall be pleased to shout it from the rooftops. In the meantime, I am keeping a low(ish) profile and trying to think out how the rear suspension hangs on this beastie. The lower part is difficult and must somehow hang onto the nylon bit of the chassis. Unfortunately no glue sticks nylon, so I am spitting feathers at present. However, I have conceived a cunning plan and have begun to execute it. Here comes the start of it: Now for a bit of friction and solder. I've been dreaming of these wheels for years but as Martin says everybody has ignored F1s for far too long and when they do them they tend to use old technology with Watneys Red Barrel gearboxes etc. Lets hope things start to move in the right direction now.

How about soldering the bottom stuff to thin piece of brass shim which you then screw to the nylon somewhere? I think everyone who may want one knows it's done by now, Mel!

Having thought about it and having lost the thread I just tried to post it has been a busy day. I have used the idea suggested by Scratchbuiler and ploughed on. I first made up an assembly for the rear suspension and then fitted it. Here is the assembly: Then I did a quick fit of the parts to see if they went together. More to do yet, but progressing again.

Here we are, I have boxed the first five 312Bs to arrive. They are complete apart from the instruction sheets, draft 1 of which will be finished tomorrow. Due to the late arrival of the Policar wheels, there are currently no wheel inserts for them so although some Slot.It wheels will be usable, I am making a price reduction on this car for Forum members only. Instead of the usual £35.00 plus p&p, they will be £30.00 plus p&p. Another batch of five is on its way and I remember David and Daniel want to order but who else does? Please email me and remind me. Thanks Mel PS there are some nice Policar 312PB wheel inserts which are the correct size for Policar wheels although not exactly the correct shape but could be modified. These are available from Pendle slot.

Er, hang on....Didn't I agree to make an insert for the Policar wheels on Tuesday, Mel? So they can just pop 'em in as a last thing

Martin, Yes you did agree to make some inserts and I gave you a set of wheels to use to help make them. What I am suggesting is that the Policar inserts could be used pro tem.
