Your response to this event has been remarkable. I have decided to increase the maximum number of Entrants from 18 to 24. In any case, there is generally some attrition between the initial enthusiasm of Registration and the arrival of the cars in the paddock for the first race. I don't think we will be overwhelmed with entries but 24 cars is still a reasonable number for a race host to deal with, even for a 2-lane track.

Thanks Andi. Somebody had to build it. We need a purple car on the grid!

Thanks for the rapid response, guys. Richard, Phil Kalbfell on this forum has a Cooper T79 shell as raced in the Tasman Series. That might be a good starting point for the John Love car. Stubbo, mate, should I assume the two entries are for yourself and Stu? Who gets to play Jack and who Denis? StewartNot sure. I haven't had a chance to talk to Stu yet. Thought I would get in whilst I could. In the Monaco race Denny won completing 100 laps and Jack was last, didn't complete the first lap (although he had pole). Thanks for that. Look forward to taking part in this one. Looks like it'll be a Brabham, BT19 or BT20, either one. I'll talk to Stubbo and confirm car and number Stewart. cheers

Slo & Stubbo, The Brabham Team entries for the Monaco GP appear to be a bit of a mixed bag. While Hulme's winning BT20 is straightforward... ... Jack's entry is listed as the BT19, but while it does have the bulgy sides of the 1966 BT19 and BT20, the only pictures I can find show that it was running the new-for-1967 motor with the top mounted exhausts. Hi Stewart. 67' Monaco. Jack drove the BT19 with the 740 3-litre Repco with the centre high exhausts engine instead of the 620 engine. This motor was from the BT24 which they felt was not yet race ready. To quote Jack from the book (The Jack Brabham story) " The darned thing broke a conrod on the opening lap." He drove the BT19 again with this engine configuration in the Dutch GP. Im assuming it is the BT24 engine cover.

Hi Stewart I'm not convinced it was purple, although I wish it were....
Have you any photos to prove ot? I know there is a 1:43 model in purple but the actual cars appears dark blue as per the team car..... With a larger white nose, at least in 67 before it went yellow.
Help! Andi

As there appears to be a number of Honda RA273's entering. I will change to my RA300. Just to make the grid more representative. Peter

Andi Perhaps I've been influenced by all those pictures on the net of the 1/43 model? Unfortunately most of the photos out there of the actual car are B&W. Here are the colour ones I've found. Stare at them long enough and you can convince yourself the car is purple.... or blue... or purple... or... Stewart

Indeed but the one that gives it away for me is the one of Al sitting in the car with no helmet. Look behind his head and you see that despite the car having been reliveried at the front the central white stripe of the original livery appears to still be there. This suggests to me that it is indeed blue and the white was simply added at the front.... Not necessarily conclusive but convinces me. Anyone else can help? Andi

Andi Andi, I agree, and the fact that the rivets close to the fuel nozzle are still unpainted, leads me to believe that it was in it's original Gurney Blue and NOT purple.
