My name is Alan. Getting back into slots after many many years away. Started back in the 60s. Ran 1/32 and 1/24 at local commercial track. Father allowed me to build a routed track in our basement back then. Things moved on. Now 70 yeas old and still a kid but now have a new house with a finished basement and back to slots. Found a local group but 10 minutes away from my house. They meet every Thursday night and race prototypical looking classes. I am into good looking cars and watching them run a decent speeds. The bench work to my track will be started in about a week. Thought about routing my own again but decided on using Carrera track products instead. The track will be able to support digital or analog operations. Cannot wait to get started building some 1960 to 1980 F1 cars. I will post pictures as the work progresses. Regards, Alan

Welcome Alan, you'll find yourself at home here, many of us are re-visiting our past, but with much greater skills. We're looking foreward to seeing your creations.
If you have any questions about parts, reference, photos, techniques, painting etc just ask. Someone will know the answer.
Again, welcome!

Thank you for the warm welcome. It will not be long now as the contractors are finishing the work in our basement today and the basement will be mine at last!
Bench work is next for me and them coming up with a track plan. Heading to the Carrera distributor tomorrow to pick up the digital parts.
Looking at a few of the Scaley 1960 vintage F1 cars. Are they OK to start?
Alan

Hi Alan, that all sounds good to me since I have had to dismantle my track in anticipation of a house move. The Scaextric cars are a great place to start unless you have an overly critical eye, only a shame they don't do more from that era. Look forward to seeing how it turns out. Regards Nigel
