I thank you all for the priveledge of running in this series, allowing me to host and run your cars, and most of all for the learning curve i was on . All in all a simply magnificent event. Stewart for your organization and help at various venues including the Green. It was a pleasure to have you here. Chris for again setting a new standard for the combi ation of beauty and performance, simply stunning. All the different designs were a treat to behold and a truly inspiring experience to drive me further in my attwmpts at building these wonderful cars. I certainly hope that we have another event similar to this one in 2018 and hope it is not really old cars since i dont own any. Im ok with the 50s though lol. Thanks again one and all, and i hope that you all have a wo derful and joyous Christmas season. So from Canfield Green Merry Christmas Bob

Thanks again one and all, and i hope that you all have a wo derful and joyous Christmas season. So from Canfield Green Merry Christmas Bob Bob: Wanted to comment on your track - based on the photos (and the fact that my 250F liked it), it's a great track. I'd love to run on it but it would be a bit of a haul (20 years ago, a one day drive - alas, no longer) So far as the old-timers are concerned, don't close your mind. The first 60's GP car I built was the #36 Eagle you saw in this running. I built it because it was a class that we ran at the original "Slot Car Convention" in Las Vegas. After struggling with the build, squeezing in a motor, finding gears small enough to fit and coping with the mare's nest of external suspension bits I declared "Never again". It was certainly up to the standards of the day but comparing it to the current crop, one sees clearly how far the posts have moved - at least double the effort! (I did build 3 more, a BT 11 and 2 804s but that is another story) Now about the older cars - plenty of motor room, no bother with tiny gears, all of those difficult to model engine bits modestly covered by bodywork and minimal visible suspension parts make life easier. At one time, moving from the 2.5L formula back made finding the right wheels a problem but that is no longer the case. PCS and Penelope Pitlane have suitable offerings. (And there is more than a bit of wiggle room in that spec. While one will find wheel/tire sizes quoted, there was race-to-race variation reflecting the relative weakness of the cotton cord tires of the day and the need to keep wheel rotational speeds low enough to avoid shedding the tread) And think of the opportunities - you can build an Auto Union with a large motor and still have a full cockpit! Thanks Al , i do have a Merc196 underway froom i think 1955 but if we go older i shall take a good shot at a new build. This was so much fun i really look forward to another and using some of my new found skills or at least testing them out lol. Bob, I should add that if you ever feel the need to head north for a holiday , just pack your cars. I have lots of room for you and i think it might just be a fun time lol.

Thanks for the invitation. I just looked up the route - only 500 miles - hmmmm, food for thought (after the winter weather has passed)

It has been so much fun reading of the proxy races - and now my head swims at the idea of a 30's -40's or 50's proxy of a similar quality!! Now that Black Point 2.0 is up and running, I will volunteer to host a round ! (as well as hoist a round...!). provided the postal services can get them back and forth across the border!!
Best, Steve C.
