Please would entrants from outside the UK make sure they put a low value on the customs declaration (say no more £15) and state that the contents of the package are toy cars for a competition and then return to their owner. Hopefully the will avoid customs wanting to charge an import tariff and/or open the package. I know from experience the charges can be high especially as the UK post office also impose an administration fee.
Best Regards
David

Hello David & John, I did my final test last night, and I am shipping the car today. I will also do the Paypal fee today. Thanks for the warning about the value, I would have made exactly the wrong entry for that line! I'm trying to figure out how to post photos, any quick tips?
thanks
Max

Hello Max, I see the payment, thank you.
Picture posting here requires a third party photo hosting service. There are acouple of free ones out there...I use Postimage.org
Regards John

When making a full reply, rather than a quick reply, just click on the 'add attachment' box and select the pictures required. The size however needs to be quite small, 500KB for example. Experimentation helps.... Peter.

Hi Matt
That must be very disappointing for you after all the work you've put in; I was really looking forward to seeing the ERA. If you change your mind...........
Best regards

If you change your mind......... WHICH YOU SHOULD! Dare to be late! What are we going to do, sue you? I know it's not what we like as far as precedents go, but we all want to see your car in the group. (just my opinion) -Max

How many cars am I working on? - or words to that effect
Well, I have an answer now but for a while it was not clear I had an episode of an annoying sight problem - all of a sudden, there was two (or, in the case of the models four) of everything! The various dire circumstances that might account for such a problem were ruled out and I was told that it is not an uncommon problem in "someone of your age" and that, given time, it would correct itself - which it has but not before putting me severely behind schedule. (It's hard to work on a model when you can't tell which of the two you are seeing is real. One can get around this by closing one eye but then depth perception is gone, creating another set of problems!
Bottom line - I'm about a month behind. I'd like to join the remainder of the series to see if some chassis ideas work but that,of course, is up to the organizers.

I am still beavering away on the ERA. If I can finish before the entire proxy race is finished, I'll send it off. Obviously it would not be eligible for any contest points as I was unable to meet the deadline. But just to see the car lined up on those beautiful tracks with the rest of those fantastic cars would be worth it!

I have to admit that I‘ll be late as well. Too much other and maybe more important tasks have to be finished. I‘ll keep you informed... Best regards Thomas

Hi Matt, EM, and Thomas,
I'm very sorry to hear of your various difficulties. Your cars will be very welcome whenever you can get them to me. It seems to me that if you have to miss a round or two then so be it; there's no need to think in terms of penalties.
Best Regards
David

All the cars received have now been through the scrutineering bay and the results are shown below. The cells marked in green are where the car is fully compliant those marked in orange are where the car does not comply with the rules. The transgressions are fairly minor therefore John and I have agreed that no penalties will imposed unless it becomes clear that a non-compliant car has a distinct competitive advantage arising from a non-compliant element of its construction. I will be posting some pictures of the cars over the next few days. Note Andi Rowland's Miller will be arriving when he comes to assist me with the first round. I have also retained Thomas's, Matt's and Alan's cars on the list in the hope that they can send their cars at some point during the proxy. Best regards David
