Hi, My name is David Scott. I live on the coast in Ballina, in northern New South Wales, Australia. I'm 61 and first became interested in slot cars in the early seventies. I first was given a HO AFX set, and then acquired some secondhand Scalextric track and a variety of both 1/32 and 1/24 cars. This included two early Scalextric formula 1 cars. One was a C86 Porsche 804 which I painted silver and tried to make it more like the original. The other a C72 BRM which I tried to turn into a Gurney Eagle using papier-mache of all things. Scalextric and 1/32 has been my main slot car focus ever since. As time went on I collected a number of F1 cars from the seventies. Some of them, especially the C026 March Ford 721 await restoration and modification (not scratch building). Although I do intend to scratch build a replacement front wing. My two main interests have been wood work and slot cars. These days it's more slot cars. I really would have a routed wooden track but that doesn't look like happening soon. Anyway that explains my username. I greatly enjoy the builds on this forum and although my few scratch building efforts have been predominantly in touring cars, you never know when F1 may be on the cards. An Alan Jones' Williams maybe a possibility. Attachments:

Hi David, welcome to the forum. Most of us are 'older' folk so you should feel at home.
As you will have noted, the forum covers all eras, with early 60s undoubtedly the most popular.
I'm sure we all look forward to seeing the occasional build from you.
Don't forget, if there is some detail you are unsure of, there are some walking encyclopaedias on this forum!
Welcome again, Peter.
