After seeing Howard's work in process of the John Bacon car, I remembered a reference somewhere to a Dave Jones Ferrari 246 shell, so I went searching (the forums, not my parts' bin). Have any of you guys built the Dave Jones car? I've seen some beautiful pictures of a George Turner Ferrari 246 kit, but the Dave Jones version seems to be a bit more elusive. (or is everybody building Maseratis and Alfas these days?)

Boy I would not have anything to do with a body like that!!! It might even end up looking quite nice!! Although it would probably turn out green from envy Howard

I bought four of Dave's lovely shells for my 1959 F.1 series. I was already running four 246 Dino shells made by someone else (I can't remember who) so initially I built up just one of Dave's shells into a working car.
I just couldn't get it to work. I don't know why but for me, some shells just work better than others. It's a complete mystery but in the end I returned the three unused shells and later bought a Turner version. The Turner car is a 1960 version and is MUCH wider than Dave Jones' '59 car.
Suffice to say, a Turner-bodied car won my Italian Grand Prix just yesterday.
