Title: Directory of Historic Racing Cars - The Survivors, Genuine, Authentic and Facsimile.
Author: Denis Jenkinson ISBN Nr:0-946627-08-8 Year of publication: 1987 Language: ...English quality of book: softback Classification: Authenticity Concerns: Pre-and post war
DSJ was the 'Motor Sport' European correspondent for many years.
An excellent reference book identifying racing cars classified as 'Original', (very rare as anything of any use tended to get modified,) through Genuine, Authentic, Resurrection, Re-construction, Facsimile, Special, Duplication, Destroyed and Scrapped.
Many one-off specials such as the Napier Railton and CTA Arsenal are covered, as are the 250F Maserati cars, where brief history of each chassis number being given.
Probably a bit out of date by now as cars and parts continue to be discovered, (or is that 'discovered')
Personnel grade from 1to10: -9
Why just 9? I feel that if individual histories were given to both works and customer 250Fs, the same should apply at least to works cars which had a perhaps a less elevated status, such as the Lancia/Ferrari D50 and Talbot Lago.
Peter.
