Phil,
Yes, I noticed your car--I appreciate how you craft these rarer cars...I don't know much about those races, but I'm thinking that Clark drove this Lotus against the modified 1.9L and 2.0L BRM P261s piloted by Hill and Stewart?

Mark the BRMs raced the two years after this car. This Lotus raced against the Cooper T79 and Brabhams. The Clark returned the following year the Lotus 39 and competed against the BRM's. This series created a few unique cars.

Phil I know it is the car today as raced by Classic Team Lotus rather than period photographs but here are a few shots I took of the car at Silverstone in 2005 David

David thanks for the pics. I see it has wobbly wheels, the car raced here usually with the spoked wheels. But I have one pic of it during the Tasma with spoked on the front and wobbly in the rear. Still an great car.

Nifty pictures of the Lotus David.
I grabbed my copy of Theme Lotus; I didn't recall a chapter on this car (or the Lotus 39). However that book doesn't devote much space to these cars other than listing the race results in these series. Looks like Clark was dominant during the 1965 season driving this car.
Was this car based on the Lotus 25 with the Lotus 39 being a derivative of the Lotus 33?

The lots 32b was the F2 car from the previous year fitted with the larger Climax FFP. the 39 was a modified 33 with a bigger Climax. I suppose they needed to do something with F1 cars at the end of the season!
