For the next year, I am planing to make a 10-days-holiday around the Goodwood revival meeting (13.-15.September).
It seems to be not easy to get an accommodation in or near Chichester at that time. Is there anybody of you, who can help me to get an accomodation (B&B, double or twin room w. ensuite bath room)?
Thank You!

Hi Taffy
I also expect to visit the Goodwood Revival meeting next year and I went in 2007, as you say accomodation sells out very quickly.
I am not totally sure of my plans next year and I cant offer any real advice about booking.
When I went in 2007 I did not book anywhere and it took me hours to find a bed at a Bed and breakfast house with a spare room, it was quite a drive away and expensive as expected.
Perhaps some one who lives nearer the Goodwood circuit can offer us some good advice.
Nearer the time we can arrange a meeting.
Regards Nigel

Taffy and Nigel, I'm thinking that a visit to the UK in mid September would be just what I need to make 2013 special. 2012 is a year that I'd rather forget for a variety of personal reasons. I believe I could find a way to spend a week in England next September. Which one of our British forum members has a home near the event where we could all meet and camp out for a few days? By the way Taffy, I know that folks from Germany are experts at planning holidays; it comes from the event of using 8 to 12 weeks of leave time each year! I vote that we put you in charge of the trip planning.

It is well worth spending all three days at The Revival as there is so much to see and you miss most of it if you only go for one day.
The surrounding area has lots of places to visit both inland and on the coast so it's a good place for a weeks holiday.
My wife and I rented a cottage for the week in 2005 and 2006 which was only about 10 minutes from the circuit which made it such a pleasure getting easily to and from the circuit each day.
I would suggest searching for "Self catering properties" in the Chichester area, if a few of you share the house it won't be expensive per head.
Goodwood is extremely expensive but it is worth treating yourself and when I met up with two American friends at the Revival a few years ago they couldn't believe just how good it was.

I returned home after an afternoon with the in-laws and started channel surfing on TV. The Fox Speed channel was showing a one hour program called Goodwood Revival. Needless to say I spent the next 60 minutes watching this show. Are people really allowed to enjoy themselves that much? The event was brilliant! Are there scholarships available for Yanks to attend this festival?

Unfortunately I have to say, that I had to cancel my planned visit of this year´s Goodwood revival meeting For me, it is a indispensable condition to go there with my wife, and she told me recently, that she has to be the guide of a professional event at that weekend (yes, Mark, even Germans have to work sometimes ). So, two other lucky people will take the bus tour to Goodwood, and I have to wait for the next year´s event. To get informed about the great real racing times of Goodwood, I will order this Goodwood Motor Circuit DVD. I hope, this is a good choice....

Hello, Nigel, there will be another chance in 2014. As a substitute, this year I will have a flight in a Junkers Ju 52. To visit the Goodwood revival meeting is one of my lifelong dreams, and last year I started to fulfill them one after another. I know, that I will go to Goodwood.
Regards,
