I'm sorry to hear that Surtees' Ferrari isn't firing.
It looks like it's going to be a dicey series for Graham at the back of the pack, at least the Graham piloting the little Lotus. His team owner should have put him in a 3 L car, (or at least a car with 3 Li grippy tires--like 15" NSRs rather than those 13" skinny tires on the Lotus BRM.
Yikes.
Oh well,
Thank you for the reporting and great pictures Dave.

Thanks for the update -very happy with result - very worried about the 80DP gears! EM Shouldn't be a problem Alan. Just needs a spacer on the axle to take up a little slack between the pinion & crown. Dave

Thanks for the report Dave. What great pictures I knew your track was perfect for the first race of the series.
The practice times are fairly close so fingers crossed for a competitive race.
What a shame that Dave Jones Ferrrari appears to be a non starter.

Here are some additional images from yesterdays first day of action at Forest Hall Circuit: Sadly, Surtees Ferrari 312 got no further than the end of the pitlane. Bianchi enters his pit for mid practice checks. Gurney on his mission earning second place in qualifying. Hill awaits the all clear from his pit during qualifying. Bandini takes a break from qualifying for the Maranello mechanics to re fuel. Rodriguez during a brief pit-stop as Tony Rudd orders mechanics to check the BRM's rear end. The ever popular Jo Bonnier prepares himself to complete the practice session finishing just ahead of Hills Lotus-BRM Bianchi leaves his pit and heads for a 3rd place qualifying slot.

Dave,
I love all the pictures. You have really captured the spirit of event with your track build and the way you have presented it to us in these wonderful photographs.
If you look closely you will see that Graham Hill is clenching his jaw in the pits--no doubt he is not pleased with his qualifying time. I suspect he wants to have a word with the team owner about racing a car with a twitchy front and rear end. Graham can only hope that racing skill will overcome the constructor's mistakes!

Dave Thanks Dave _ I am more than happy to take advantage of your judgement and good offices to make the needed adjustment. My setting was,at best, a guess because I couldn't find my feeler gauge set in the Aegean Stables that currently passes for my workshop! Al

Hi Dave,
thanks for all the lovely pictures!!! It looks fantastic. Jo's crew has been waiting patiently for all of the computer data downloads so that we could modify the car from here to help him improve his time. Then we remembered that we don't have computers here to do that, don't have sensors, don't have any of that stuff (or rubbish if you prefer) ... so
Go faster Jo, Go faster!!! :-)
all my very best
Charles

Hi all, I am back from my extended leave of absence in the UK, fresh or should I say not so fresh from a 7 hour Newcastle to Dubai flight, a 3 hour stop over before a 10 hour flight on to Perth. I have to comment straight away on the presentation of the cars, the track, and the photos of this great proxy. Congratulations to all involved with this series it is really a privileged to be part of it. Thanks Nigel

Hello, Dave, hello gents!
Sorry for my late reply, but the BRM-team-management was offline at this weekend! I am very glad to see Pedro Rodriguez on pole position in the starting grid, and of course, I hope, he can hold this position in the race....
The pictures of the training session ar gorgeous! Would it be possible to put them into a Google+- or Picasa-album (or something like that), so that we could see them in higher resolution? To see all these cars on the track is sooo great. What wouldn´t I give to be at the event site!
Kind regards,

What a great picture.
Is there any chance you could do a little feature on your track in this forum I would love to see more of the wonderful work you've done.
