Hi Matt I really like what you have done here, such a lot of effort to make a really nice model of a rare car. I hope you have success with it as it deserves it. The body mods are comprehensive and the suspension detail and hubs are particularly delicately accurately modeled. Thanks for showing. Nigel

Hi Matt,
I second what Nigel said.
How about some pictures of the finished car in all its proletarian glory?
Cheers.

The car did get finished and it's winging its way to Indiana, via India. The last time I checked, it was in Mumbai... Parts array This year, I tried to build a slot car that can actually make its way around the track in a reasonable fashion. I think it drives OK, but it is heavy, so it may not have much acceleration.

Matt, Congratulations. I've seen 1.5 L car builds by all save 2 or 3 of this year's VRAA participants in 2011 and 2012. However, I've only seen 4 of the 2013 VRAA entries to date as everyone else is playing things close to the vest on the SCI board. Now, I'm not judging the Concours this year--I suppose that would be a conflict of interest, eh? , but I'll make a prediction just from these pictures. You're getting the Gold Medal in Concours. I'll be at Ken's house the weekend of the first race at which time I'll see all the cars and learn whether I'm eating humble pie. It is a trifle annoying that you can and did build a Soviet tractor that looks far better than my sleek Lola.

Uh oh, that sounds like a jinx to me. Is there any way you can exert some influence on the judge? Is the judge by any chance Russian?
I'm just hoping that nothing falls off and it comes through in one piece. How many races this year?
And when it's parked next to your Lola, you'll really appreciate the agricultural crudity - I doubt you'll think it looks better!
