Hi Brian
Looks very good. Have you thought about how construct the wire mesh for each injection trumpet? I wonder if it would be possible to push a small amount up from the bottom end of each ferrule using a very small diameter piece of wire or brass rod otherwise it might be tricky to neatly place it on top of each trumpet.
Regards David

Made some more progress today. David I will attempt your idea for the trumpet meshes tomorrow, cheers for that. A little annoyed with myself, as I have lost one of the mirrors. I also need to source the remainder of the cars decals. Brian

Well David, I attempted to push the mesh through the ferrules and failed miserably. I've ended up shaping the mesh over a blunt cocktail stick and trimming with a sharp pair of scissors. This has taken me hours. Not as good a look as I would have liked, but not too bad. I only wish I could find the mirror I've misplaced. Time to start on Mr Stewart. Brian

Hi Brian
They look good to me! Before I read about your attempt I was having a go this evening at inserting the mesh through the bottom end of a ferrule. I did manage to do it in the end and the result is acceptable but no better than yours. Maybe someone else has a good technique for doing this.
Best regards
David

Quick update. I've fitted a steering column and dry fitted the Screen (Blue tac'd), to check how it looks, a little more trimming is required. The driver I will be mounting on some plastic card. I have made the drivers legs on the card and Jackie's face cloth with a little milliput. Sorry about quality of photo. I've cut the tyres to replicate Jackie's car, not that the track I will be racing on is likely to get wet! I've ordered 6 spoke Lola inserts from BWA and hope they arrive soon. I've also ordered a Matra decal sheet from Pattosplace. What you see on my car as of now are all that came with the kit I purchased for this model. Brian

Brian Hello Brian, The car looks better with every shot...good job!! While I don't have anything against Pattos' decals, the decals from Michael at Indycals (he has a tab on this site) are appreciably better, both in registration and colour, and, they are easier to work with. He offers a Matra MS11 sheet, and although there are small differences between the 10 and the 11, the sponsor decals are the same. Cheers Chris Walker

But one of the decals I require is Jackie Stewart's name and colours and they are not on Michael's Matra sheet. But cheers anyway and thanks for the positive comments. Brian

Hi, Well my decal sheet turned up today, so I got straight to it. Some of the decals are not quite correct, but here's my Matra MS10 as of today. Penelope Pitlane are going to furnish me with a new set of Mirrors, thank you Steve. I am still waiting for my wheel inserts, I hope they turn up prior to Christmas. Started to paint the driver today, but need to order some decal paper today for Jackie's head band. Will experiment on normal plain paper this afternoon. Thanks for reading. Merry Christmas to one and all. Brian

Jackie's coming together. Visor to fabricate, Tartan head band to add and a little shadow detail to add to coveralls. Then it's final detailing and then it's a waiting game for the wheel inserts and mirrors to arrive. Can not wait to race this car. Brian

Thank you Chris. I'm pleased to report the mirrors arrived today. Took some dressing, but here's my Matra as of now. Wheel inserts and Decal paper to arrive next, then all done! Drives quite well around my home track, hope it goes as well around my clubs routed track. Brian

Brian, Tilt the mirrors down a little, like this: It'll look much better. Chris

Any better Chris? Well, I hope the wheel inserts arrive soon. I ordered them from Canada a month ago. Should get the decal paper in a day or two. Then after adding the Tartan band, I need to clear varnish the shell and finally race tune it. Oh yeah, and secure the windscreen. Brian
