Chris, simply stunning. Compared to the commercial version - they are simply two different models....I don't know which one the Monogram is - but yours, is a more than faithful rendition of the 33....
Love your detail.
Sadly, to the ignorant - without the build history, your model would simply be perceived as great - not the exquisite it deserves.
One day, just one day - I might get within sight of what you have achieved. absolutely great build, Chris.
And....... with an 'nth of the text I have subjected the forum to in my build..... guess there's a message there - more building and less typing.....

Rosco this is the Monogram Shell: Very nicely built by Phil Smith. It is one of the best renditions of a Monogram Lotus 33 out there. And this is my version.

Thanks Chris,
the dimensions are similar to Model cars plan that I have. Your car captures the essence of the cars of the time perfectly.
I supported Lotus from first getting scalextric (along with Vanwall) then on into the 70's when I watched the Grand Prix's at Brands and Silverstone, and even owning some Europa road cars, but the death of Chapman brought to an end a great period of Grand Prix racing for me personally. Looking forward to more of your builds, and bodies.
Regards Nigel

Thanks Chris, they are both wonderful builds. I believe you would be very satisfied with the additional effort you have rewarded your build with.

Found a great photo of the Lotus 33. I wish I had found this photo when I was building mine. Jim, Lotus 33 1965 U.S. G.P. Unfortunately Clark went out with engine failure after just 12 laps.

That was a long bump, Chris - yes, I scrounged as many pix of my little build when it was on the board.... you can never find enough.
When Black Jack's BT-19 was on display last year - my soul intention for the entire motoring display was to snap as many pix of it as I could imagine needed....
Your eye for detail is rewarded in this post build find....
