5 1/2 years later... The P61 took a few knocks during the series long ago, including a broken chassis. It's been sitting on the shelf for at least 5 years. I thought it was about time I rebuilt the car, so I began the project 2 days ago. Re soldered and cleaned up the chassis. Replaced the motor and the gears Replaced the tires all around Stripped the paint and decals and put on a new coat of primer Repaired a crack in the front cowling. I've replaced the driver with a new Graham Hill figure from Immense Miniatures. My old figure was sloppily painted, and actually sat too low in the cockpit.. that's a switch, eh? Still to come: new rivets, new mirrors, livery and decals. But I'll almost certainly wait on the painting until it warms up around here.. in about 4 or 5 months!

Graham looks please about the rebuild!
There is something rather pleasant about re-visiting a car which has served well in the past. There's a few I have in mind for such treatment.
I look forward to seeing the re-finished car. Could you re-post some of the pictures of the car as originally finished. If you still can find the pictures of course!
Peter.

Here is a picture from shortly before I packed off the car to Canada, but before I renumbered the BRM to 22 since 2 was already reserved for another entry in the proxy. Fortunately, this photo was still on the PC hard drive; my Photobucket account is all screwed up (I believe that is a common refrain): I'll post some pictures later of the chassis and running gear that I've repaired and cleaned up.

That looks good for another proxy series, maybe next year? Regards Nigel

Graham Hill up close. Graham may (or may not) get a Dunlop logo on his overalls depending on whether I can manage to get one of these microscopic decals to set properly without it disintegrating into a half dozen even smaller fragments. Frankly, it would be oh so much easier if Marc would just etch the tire logos on the overalls. Three versions of course: Dunlop, Goodyear and Firestone.

I have a few more rivets (Micro-Mark raised rivet decals) to add around the windscreen and nose band, after which I'll see if I can get this car back to "BRM Green". The weather out here is finally warm enough for painting outdoors.
