The Scalextric McLaren M7A is now available and in fact has been for a little while.

I received my McLaren M7C this morning from Pendles. Overall it is quite good but it is let down by a very poor driver representation. The helmet is totally wrong (as it is on the Rindt Lotus 72c) and the driver sits too high in the cockpit. The rear suspension detail is poor as well. I haven't measured it so I don't know how to scale it is.
I don't like to be critical as Scalextric are to be commended for producing these cars and I know there have to be compromises. However things like the driver details are as easy to get right as wrong. They can spoil the look of a model, as David Lawson rightly commented in his post on his V12 Maserati 250F.
OK rant over!
Best Regards
David

I see that Scalex plan to release the Brabham BT26A early in the New Year.

Looks pretty 'mean' that! Not sure how accurate it is because I don't really know the real car but it looks great in that photo.... Wrong decade for me of course but at least it has wings!!!!
Merry Christmas to one and all. CHEERS Andi

Surprised to see the BT26A on Scalextrics 2015 programme. I may be tempted into parting with some cash for one of those.

The Brabham BT26A was released by Scalex a couple of weeks ago and very nice it looks to. I have very fond memories of Jacky Ickx dicing with Stewart in the Matra in this car - in my opinion Ickx was at his very best in 1969.
Photo property of Pendle Slot Racing - I hope they don't mind me using it. David
