None of these prototypes have been declared as of March 21 pm.
Lotus 25
Two of the venerable 25s were sold to Reg Parnell and
raced with 2.0 L BRM V8 engines in 1966 and 1967.
BRM P261
Owen Racing continued to field the 261s with
1.9-2.1L V8s in 1966 and into 1967 as the P83 was late, overweight and unreliable.
The P261s were also raced by Reg Parnell Racing and Bernard White Racing
Cooper T-73
Another "Half tonner" and no, not a sailboat, that made a couple of
starts in 1966.
Brabham BT-11
Bob Anderson's car is pictured here. The BT11 was raced
by privateers with the Climax FPF L4 or the BRM V8 in 1966-8.
BRM P138
Eagle Weslake TIG
Honda RA-302
One appearance. Jo Schlesser perished in a fireball
at the 1968 French GP.
Matra MS-9
One appearance by Jackie Stewart at the 1968 South African GP.
Brabham BT-26
Cooper-BRM T86B
Honda RA-301
BRM P133
Cooper Maserati V12 T86
Mclaren M4A
Not a half tonner, but not much bigger, this little car was fitted
with a BRM 2L V8. Bruce McLaren drove the M4A in two starts
in 1967.
Cooper Maserati T-81B
Mclaren M5A
Powered by a BRM V12 (before Owen Racing raced the V12 in
its own cars) the M5A was raced by the McLaren Team mostly in 1967, and Jo Bonnier in
1968.
LDS-Climax MK 3B
I always thought the LDS was a counterfeit Brabham. It sure
looked like one. Sam Tingle raced this car for Team Gunston at
the 1967 and 1968 South African Grands Prix.
Cooper T-79
John Love would have won the 1967 South African Grand Prix
in this car if he hadn't run low on petrol.
Brabham BT-20
Mclaren M2B
Beardog's nomination for the ugliest car of the 1966-8 era.
The Yamura Motors model driven by Pete Aron was more
successful.
BRM H-16 P-83
The reason the P261 raced so long beyond the end of the 1.5L era.
Ferrari 246
A 158 chassis fitted with a 2.4L V6. The 246 had 4 starts in 1966 including
a second place finish at Monaco and a third place finish at Spa.
Brabham BT-7
Dan Gurney is pictured in the 1.5L BT7 that he drove to victory in the
1964 French GP. The BT7 made one start in 1966
raced by Jo Bonnier at the British GP.
Lotus 33 Climax
The Lotus 43 was a decent enough car but it was powered by
the bulky cranky BRM H16 in 196. As a result, Team Lotus drove the Lotus 33
for most of 1966. Both Jim Clark and Graham Hill drove Lotus 33s in the 1967
Monaco GP which marked the last F1 appearance of the Lotus 33 for Team Lotus.
