Having just completed the McLaren M7A, I'm continuing the Antipodean theme with a model of Jack Brabhams 1970 Monaco Grand Prix car. Those old enough to remember the TV coverage here in Britain will recall that final thwarted lap of Brabham's as he nudged the barrier literally yards from victory allowing Jochen Rindt to nip past at the very last moment. A similar fate befell Brabham at the British GP later that season when he ran out of fuel, and again it was Rindt who took the flag. The model will be made using a Classic-Betta fibreglass body shell and I'll post more photos as and when things develop. Dave

Great champion, sportsman, and a gentleman, very underrated especially in his home country. His achievements will not be equalled for sure. Nigel

I've only just heard the news this morning that Jack Brabham had passed away. I was aware he was in advancing years and had been battling with liver disease for sometime, but its still very sad news to hear of one of the sports few remaining historical greats passing on.

Looking forward to it David. This is, in my opinion, one of the rather thinner and perhaps more 'to scale' of the Classic bodies of that period and i've been eyeing mine for a long time.... Good luck Andi

Hi ! I always thought that this body was just a fiberglass version of the Betta vacuum formed mould ! According to info at Ultimatecarpage and to a bt33 blueprint found via google, the car had a 95" wb. Here : carblueprints.info/eng/view/brabham/brabham-bt33-f1-1969Is it possible for any of you to compare the Classic body with this blueprint and give an opinion ? Many thanks ! André Acker.
