Thank you, Nigel, for your kind comment!
It is a curious story about the Eifelland racing team. Günter Hennerici, owner of the german "Eifelland"-caravan factory, dreamed the dream of resurrecting the great times, when german drivers won the championship driving german cars. So he founded the Eifelland racing team to achieve this. He bought a March racing car, that was redesigned by the famous designer Luigi Colani, thus changing the March to a "german" racing car. With Rolf Stommelen, he had found the right driver for this car. Unfortunately, Luigi Colani was a famous designer, but not a famous racing car-designer (like Len Terry). So the car had immense problems with handling and cooling in the Kyalami GP, and the Colani body had to be changed part by part with the original March bodyparts and wings, with the cockpit remaining the only Colani part - that is, in short words - the story about this special car. After the Kyalami race, there was some more development in the car´s design, but the Eifelland team was closed down after a while because of lack of success and because Gunther Hennerici had been a little bit too optimistic about his own financial power... That is - very compressed - the story, reported in several sources in the WWW.
Kind regards, Taffy
