Recntly completed this model made using a Charlie Fitzpatrick Betta-Classic fibreglass shell. The original shell was a little on the wide side, so I sliced it in half taking away some of the FB material to narrow it. Its still probably too wide, but it will be getting plenty of use at my local club and from a distance looks ok. Running gear is by way of a Penelope Pitlane 'In-line Comp' nickle chassis combined with a slot.it flat 6S motor, 27z crown and 10z pinion. Original shell Surgery begins Back together again Wing parts (look away Mark) That complex rear wing construction put together using plasticard and piano wire At the Maranello paint shop Engine parts taking shape Clay in place... ...and ready to race Thank you for looking. Whether it's too wide or not; Mr Wisdom you have made a beautiful looking model. Congratulations Peter

Not only is this a lovely looking slot car, Dave drove the wheels off it at the Wolverhampton November Classic open meeting a few weeks ago.

I have held this car in my hands and it is the most stunning scratch build I have ever seen. It is perfect and in my eye's the proportions are spot on.
Dave is the inspiration behind my foray into scratch building and a gentleman to boot!
Beautiful car Dave and thanks for all your help and advice.

I modified an old Scalextric shell a few years ago into this model as it's always been one of my favorite cars. I just wish mine had turned out half this good. That is stunning Dave. One of my favorite builds of all time.

Not the Italian Grand Prix winner as per Dave's slot car but a picture I took at the 1970 British GP when Reggazoni ran with the same race number.
Apologies for the poor quality but I had a budget camera with a 35mm fixed lens and this is a scan of the original slide.
I was also at Brands Hatch for the 1971 Race of Champions when Reggazoni won in the 312B2 but I'll save that photo for a thread should I or anyone else scratchbuild that car. David
