Hello John,
I hope, this can help you:
Look for a hollow part that is the same diameter as the wheel, for example the cap of a felt-tip pen, or disassemble a ballpoint pen and use it to push the photo-etched part into the wheel.

A light blasting with aluminium oxide will do the job with the spokes, maybe something less abrasive for the ally rims?
