For the class „formula cars 1957-1960“ of the slotracing series „Vintage 32 days“ I needed a new, powerful car to compete, but I definitively waited too long with the build of this Porsche 718. The race was planned for a saturday and I started building the car on thursday afternoon… I would like to spare you from reading about all the difficulties that occurred during construction under such enormous time pressure, but believe me, it was breathtakingly exhausting - at least for me! But after all I managed to have a race-ready car on Saturday morning, and it looked like this: In the race, the Porsche was doing pretty well and finished in the middle of the field. This remembers to the original car. Edgar Barth finished 7th with this #24 in the 1960 Monza GP.
It was the race in which the English teams did not compete in protest.

It was the race in which the English teams did not compete in protest. Now I have started the further detailing, beginning with the suspension made of copper wire and with the exhaust details. The last thing to be done is to fix the rear mirrors to the cockpit screen, pictures of the finished car will follow! Best regards, Taffy

I´m so sorry, not to have used the usual way to show the pictures by "Insert Image", but unfortunately it didn´t work.
In the preview, everything seemed to be right, but in the created post, the pictures were not shown.
So I tried to use the "Add Attachment"-button, but you can add only three pictures at one time and the picture shown this way unfortunately are all thumbnails...

One last update. With the rear-view mirrors and the brake lines added at the front (which, at least not at this point in the original - I just liked it better that way), the Porsche is now finished. The mirrors are glued with slightly flexible adhesive (Pattex Repair Extreme) to shortened pins inserted from the inside through the windshield.
One more thing: I made a mistake when specifying the source of the bodykit. The body does not come from Betta & Classis but is a resin body from Dave Jones.
