I would like to introduce you to my Honda RA271, which I have been working on longer than most of my other slotcars, namely more than four months in total. The starting point was a body from Dave Jones, which I extended and widened at the front: I soldered an exhaust system mainly from copper wire. Then I first built up a Penelope Pitlane chassis... ....but I had to realize that the motor would almost completely fill the cockpit cutout of the very flat body, so that the installation of a driver figure and a detailed cockpit was not possible. The motor type is determined by the rules in which the car is used. Therefore I sawed up the PP chassis and modified it so that the motor is positioned at a slight angle and closer to the axle pinion. The space in the cockpit has improved noticeably as a result of the modification. The suspensions are soldered from 0.8 mm copper wire. In the cockpit the driver figure and the cockpit details were fitted. Here is the finished car:
Best regards, Taffy

Outstanding Taffy, the Black suspension detail/exhausts is striking against the white body, well done!

Great to see your work again Taffy and as usual a first class build. Obviously you had no problem posting your photos, I must be doing something wrong! Cheers, Nigel

Thank you very much for your kind words! Obviously you had no problem posting your photos, I must be doing something wrong! If only I could help you, Nigel! For me, inserting photos here is still a mystery. Most of the time it works, but sometimes it doesn't. I have moved the photos to my own webspace, but sometimes they are not transferred, or not all of them... Best regards, Taffy
