I was at a race meeting at Donington Park a few years ago and had a good look at this restored OSCA, when the driver opened her up and raced through the paddock I got the full impact of the engine noise and there and then decided I had to build a slot car version of this car.

My car has a balsa carved bodyshell although I did cast a few resin copies. Front motored scratchbuilt chassis to provide room for the driver which is one of my Airfix soldier conversions and using Milliput to make the drivers cap - I made Bira's prescription goggles out of fuse wire with blobs of tinted epoxy for the lenses.
