A question for those who tend to experiment.
One of my many projects, which is only apt for this forum until the body is fitted, is to be an anglewinder.
An in-line will compromise interior detail. a sidewinder won't work as there is insufficient space so a narrow-angle anglewinder is the possible way to go, with a standard S Can motor.
I have an NSR model with a narrow angle and what look like sidewinder gears, but mine will be something around 7.5 degrees. Should I use sidewinder gears or anglewinder gears?
I'd guess that if either was run in gently they would be ok, especially with a little lapping compound.
Peter.

Most of my angle winder brass chassis use 14 degree setup with 64 pitch sidewinder gears with no problems. ABslotsport carry a good range. I would run the gears in and then just adjust the mesh. The 64 pitch just provide a nice smooth mesh.
