Thanks for posting this film Nigel.
It is very high quality and has some excellent shots of the cars in close up but most of all it shows in great detail most of the circuit, the pits and race control building as well as all the trackside banks, stands and advertising. What a great circuit to build for a home track.
David
PS Doesn't Behra's Porsche in French Blue look stunning.

Yes David, I thought that's why I should post it. It covers everything you want to see but rarely do. I wasn't expecting such good coverage, and I was going to mention Behras's Porsche but forgot by the time I was posting! Thanks, Nigel

Nigel, Thanks for posting that. I agree with David, that blue Porsche looks gorgeous..and I don't consider those early Porsches to be pretty by any means. It must be the blue! This was a non-Championship race, correct? Or is it an F2 race? The accident, (and it appears it was a fatal one) is sobering, to say the least. Toto Roche was quite the character.. rather autocratic from what little I've read about him... I am surprised he was never run over.. the guy wasn't exactly light on his feet...

The accident must be Ivor Bueb, ex Le Mans winner, and it was fatal. Toto (mini me Neubauer) Roche was crackers wasn't he, I like the way he stood in front of Moss and Moss waved him away at the start. As you say Mark, not F1 as it was touted. A brief history of the track at this link. theracingline.net/racingcircuits/archives/Charade/history.htmlwww.formula2.net/F259_18.htmDetails of the race, which was F2. A very picturesque and interesting track, shame these are no more. Nigel
