As they say this is a W.I.P. (work in progress). I thought a Lotus 25 was small, but Dave Jones rendition of the BT-7 is tiny, especially with the "Monaco Nose". A few things left to sort out: the gearbox, springs and shock's a gloss coat, and paint on Dan. Sorry for the cell phone pictures, better ones will follow. Chris Test fitting of all the parts, note Mr Dan does not have a visor on his helmet. Base coat of paint applied, Tamiya British Green. All the parts (except driver, and injectors) test fitted, started turning tyres down in width. Decals indicating vent holes in nose still need to be added. Rear tyres need width trimmed still, nose aperture to be painted matt black after a coat of gloss clear.

It is charming. Looks like your chassis is a perfect fit.

Lovely work Chris, living legend and gentleman is Dan Gurney! I particularly like the Monaco nose, does Dave sell the BT7 with the Monaco front or is this one of your modifications?

Hi Slo, I'm glad you like it, alas no, The Dave Jones body has a normal length nose, and uncharacteristically not a very good one, that's why I shortened it. It only requires about 1/4" removed, plus a little "under-nose" created.

Hi Chris.
Assuming the driver is to scale, it is indeed a small car. What is the wheelbase (of the model)?
I admire the Dave Jones' body shells which in my view the best value for money of all the body kits. They are perfect for the scratch builder who is prepared to put in a vast amount of work, but really wishes for a good body to kick-off with.
Peter.

Hi Peter, it's very nearly exact on wheelbase, the real one has a wheelbase of 91". Extrapolated down to 1/32nd scale should be 2.84", mine is 2.87", so it's almost exact scale, yes it is very small.
