Having left everything to the last minute for the GPdeM entry last year, I had to rush this build of a Penelope Pitlane 1512 kit that Russell kindly gave me. It came out OK eventually, and was a really good race car, using a modified Beardog frame and a micro motor from ABSlotsport. (I have no idea what it is, to me small motors mean Eurosport motors most of the time!) I can't find a close-up of the finished car right now, but here it is in the center of the podium for the last GPdM race: I modified the rear end of the kit to mount the transmission separate from the body, and I used a full-length driver. The wheel inserts I cast in resin from a hand-carved prototype. Other than that, not much was done, this is a very nicely detailed kit.

Dennis,
That's a great picture of the top 3 cars in the 2011 GPdM series. Jim's Brabham took the first race, Jay's Honda won race two and Dennis' Ferrari captured the final race. As all three cars placed highly in the Concours, Jay's Honda ended up taking the gold while Jim's and Dennis' entries tied for second place on the podium.
Modeling the Ferrari in the relatively rare 'red' NART colors was a very nice touch.
